Giving an old ruin a new life !
This project consisted of giving a second chance to a neglected dilapidated ancient ruin and I found such a location.
Initially, I assessed the location and the building within a peaceful area close to a slow moving river ideal for a dip on a nice day. Because the ruin was adjacent to a road frequently used by tourists, the idea was to create a quiet spot to stop at for a picnic and a swim.
My creation kept the authenticity of the ruin by grafting an inner wall around the original structure selecting a colour scheme that would reflect seasonal changes and blend successfully with nature. The walls selected were translucent giving a fuzzy outline of the ruins thereby contrasting light and shadows.

Designing a footbridge to an islet in a lake
Here the idea was to create a connection between the park area -la Tete d’Or, one of the largest park in Lyon- and a island in the middle of its lake.
Initially, I thought of designing a footbridge but ultimately, gave the visitors the alternative option of reaching the island using either the footbridge or a subway. This kept well with the history of the island, a commemorative place for soldiers that fell during WWI.
